At the end of 2016, Deportivo Alavés presented a new stadium project aligned with the needs of a club that competes in the best league in the world. A modern and avant-garde project that aims to offer all the Alava fans a space according to their category. In short, a country project that will create many jobs and wealth to the territory in a near future by generating resources and, therefore, taxes.

The health crisis has hit hard for everybody and the football world has not been spared. That's why the institution from 'Paseo de Cervantes' has decided to postpone its remodeling project for the blue-white fiefdom until the economic and social consequences are soften. It is a project for all the people of Alava and we all have to go at the same responsibility pace.

Mendizorrotza's remodeling contemplates an increase in its capacity, as well as a great improvement in the experience that 'Albiazules' fans will experience on match days. The club has invested a considerable amount of money, 33 million of the 55 million that the refurbishment will cost, with a view of making significant improvements as a result of the possibilities offered by a new facility with a capacity for 27,000 spectators.

We are confident that we will be able to resume the project in 2021, making sure the conditions are right.
